School just started this week. Junior High is much different than elementary. Even though a lot of my friends from last year are at my school. Some of my friends went to a different school. One of the reasons I was so excited about going back to school is because I made some really good friends in elementary but now I found out a lot of my friends went to different schools.
Now I have seven classes. The good thing is that my homeroom is P.E and it’s also my first class! So, I get to start every day off with something fun. Some of my friends are in the same class as me. When we switch classes we only get 3 minutes to go to the next class. This year I will be taking P.E., Science, Reading, English, Math, Social Studies, and Keyboarding. I can already tell my favorite two classes are going to be P.E. and Social Studies.
I don’t know how I feel about longer classes. I’m already getting a headache just thinking about it. With my first class being P.E. I will have to make sure I eat breakfast every day. We also have lockers. They are the hardest thing in the world to figure out. It took me almost 15 minutes to understand how to work that thing. At least now I don’t have to carry a backpack full of books all day. I can put my books in my locker. I can also put my gym shoes in there after I leave the gym so I don’t mess up my Lebrons around campus. Having a locker is almost like having my own room. I never knew how cool having a locker was until now!
Because my bus runs early, I have to go to bed early. I have to be in bed at 8:00 every night because I have to get up for 5:30 every morning. The good thing is, even though my school starts early. We get out of school at 2:30. My mom’s job is close to the school. So, I can walk to her job after school, do my homework there, and by the time my brother gets out of school I will be done with all my work. I have it all figured out. My brother gets out at 4:15. I will be good and done with all my homework by the time he gets home.
I can’t wait for the school year to really get going. We have football games in Junior High. I might go to some of them to hang with my friends. I am going to try out for the school’s basketball team and I’m joining the Newspaper Club. I know this school year is going to be fun. Maybe, now I can be on a team that actually wins more than 2 games the whole season!
