Carday Marshall announced his candidacy for Monroe City in the April 2020 Elections.
Marshall is seeking the seat that is being vacated by Councilman Kenneth Wilson.
In his official announcement Marshall said:
After much prayer and discussion with my family, I, Carday Marshall, am announcing my candidacy for the Monroe City Council District 4 seat.
Living in District 4 as a youth and now as an adult raising a family, I have experienced milestones. I am aware of some challenges that our area faces and will work hard to overcome those challenges. I am a graduate of Carroll High School and the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor’s degree in Business. Like many others, I am a concerned citizen, parent,
homeowner, and business owner who is vested in this community. I desire to see growth for our community in all aspects of life.
My business experience consists of 14 years of serving as Assistant Food Service Director at Grambling State University and Residential Manager at the University of Louisiana at Monroe for Aramark. I have gained a wealth of knowledge in leadership, problem-solving and collaborative team-building skills while serving in these roles. As a leader, I strive to lead
respectfully and with integrity daily.
Currently, I am working to enhance our community through the guidance and enforcement of our city’s policies and codes as I serve as Second Vice Chairman for the Monroe Planning Commission.
I am a servant at heart. I serve as Youth Pastor at Bread of Life Christian Ministries and volunteer in various projects, youth programs, and drives within our community.
I would like to continue to serve you as City councilman by building on the projects that have been implemented under Councilman Wilson’s leadership such as home ownership and drainage projects within the city. I would also like to focus on the crime/safety of District 4, job skill preparation, economic development, Infrastructure, and homelessness.
Please consider me, Carday Marshall, for the District 4 City Councilman’s Chair when you vote.
I care for our community, am committed to enhancing it, and capable to serve.
