CPI’s 2nd Annual Essay Contest

Theme: “How does the residue of slavery impact black Americans ”

Current Phenomenon Inc. is proudly extending an invitation to your students to enter our 2nd annual essay contest. Your students will not only have a chance to display their writing skills but will also qualify to win a cash prize: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, in each division.

Our organization prides itself on giving back to the community as well as completing the necessary fundamentals of groundwork. Current Phenomenon Inc. is a tax exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. Our mission is to educate, empower, and provide as much service as possible to those in our respective communities.

Criteria: Any students currently in grade levels 4th-8th.

Focus/Main Point: Students must compose an opinion piece essay on the significance/impact of slavery from their rightful perspectives.

Requirement: Essay must be at least two pages. Must contain: Name of Student, School, Grade, Phone number, and Date.

Deadline: February 21, 2019 (Winners will be announced on February 28, 2019)

Format: Jr. Division (4th-6th grade)- Size 12 font, double space, Times New Roman text.

Format: Senior Division (7th & 8th grade)- Size 12 font, 1.5 space, Times New Roman text.

Applicants may submit essay via email to currentphenomenoninc@gmail.com or a member of our organization will pick up all collected essays by 2:30 PM on February 21, 2019. We look forward to selecting the best essays provided to us by your school.
